“The 2010 event was a tremendous success! As a result, in 2011 the BCF will make its largest grants to date.
It brings great pride to everyone involved with the organization that we continue to grow our support for
New York City youth in honor of our four friends. To do so in such a fun setting, and to be able to celebrate this
wonderful cause with our friends, families, supporters, and sponsors is icing on the cake!”
—Eric Naison-Phillips, Board Member

The fifth annual event for the Bulldogs Care Foundation was once again a tremendous success. We ended up just shy of our goal of raising $150,000 and our return to charity will once again be over 70%. To date we have raised over $700,000 to support disadvantaged youth as they pursue personal development through programs in athletics, education, and mentoring.

Thank you so much for your help, we could not have done it without you. Your donation will have a direct positive impact on numerous young student-athletes throughout the city.

Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit student-athletes from the following local programs: City Squash, Figure Skating in Harlem, Harlem RBI, New Heights and Urban Dove.

The Bulldogs Care Foundation would like to thank everyone who attended and supported our fourth annual fundraising event, Tip Off To Success, on Thursday, September 16th, 2010 at the Broad St. Ballroom in Manhattan. The event honored the life of Andrew Knox Dwyer, with the 2010 Pillar of Strength Awardand Jayni and Chevy Chase with the 2010 Outstanding Service Award.

The event was attended by over 500 people and was a huge success once again! Steven Duke, Chairman of the Board of Directors noted, "Another successful event for BCF was crucial to continuing our positive momentum. I think the results speak for themselves; with an energetic volunteer base and a group of sponsors committed to BCF’s mission, this year’s achievements have exceeded all expectations. We are very proud of what we have accomplished this past year considering the present economy and look forward to a bright future for the BCF”

We’d like to extend a special thanks and acknowledgement to all the sponsors, donors, Board Members and Event Committee Members that made the night such a success.  Guests of Tip Off To Success enjoyed delicious cuisine prepared by The Dubliner, Beckett’s Bar & Grill, The Stone Street Tavern, The Waterstone Grill, Burger Burger, and Pizza Pizza NYC.  Refreshing beverages were provided by Brooklyn Brewery, 42 Below, Bacardi, Bombay Sapphire, Cazadores, Dewar’s, Martini & Rossi, Powerade and Vitamin Water.  Live music was provided by The Stingers and the band had everyone dancing though the night!

Quick Fact: Learning how to play fair is perhaps the most important lesson a child can glean from participating in youth sports. It is important to remember that the attitudes and behavior taught to children in sports carry over to adult life, according to AACAP.

In aiming to reduce summer learning loss in reading, writing and math for all students and advance the athletic development and healthy lifestyles of student-athletes, a significant portion of the funds raised from this event will support an organized summer academy in 2011.
